OBITUARY

Ms Aileen Olivia Prince was born on May 9, 1935 in Sumter County GA, the oldest of four children born to the union of the late Isaac A. Prince and the late Sarah Gosha Prince. At the age of twelve she joined the Lebanon Baptist Church. Through the years she served in various auxiliaries of the Church including The Family Christian Circle Cluster Circle Ministry, Diners Club and Director of Vacation Bible School.

 

She received her early education in the public schools of Sumter County. After graduating from Staley High School in Americus, GA, she attended Fort Valley State College (University) where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics / Science. She taught school at Pickins County High School in Tate GA and at Americus High School in Americus, GA where she retired after thirty-seven years of service. Ms. Prince was preceded in death by two siblings, Faye Prince Causbey and Isaac A Prince. She died on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Georgia

 

She is survived by two sisters: Ellarease Prince Johnson of Dawson, GA and Addie Owens of Americus, GA; one son Michael Owens of Chattanooga, TN; to aunts: Mrs. Hazel Baker of Americus, GA and Mrs. Berdia Gosha of Columbus GA.  A caring friend Johnny Thomas of Americus, GA; Several nieces and nephews including Nathaniel Johnson and Faith E Causby who stood by her to the end. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
