Funeral Service For Mrs. Emma Burkes 
Saturday, March 7, 2009 1:30 P.M. Triedstone Baptist Church Americus, Georgia Rev. Tommy Jordan, Officiating Obituary Mrs. Emma Burkes was born on May 7, 1924 in Sumter County Georgia to the late George Williams, Sr. and the late Anna Catherine Merritt Williams. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a member of the Triedstone Baptist Church. She was married to the late Mr. Willie Clifford Burkes, Sr. Mrs. Burkes was a homemaker, babysitter and a seamstress. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Isaac Williams, Marcellus Williams and George Williams, Jr. Mrs. Burkes died on Wednesday, February 25th at the Lillian Carter Nursing Home. Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Willie Burks, Jr., Jerome Williams and Robert Lee Williams; several devoted nieces including, Betty Williams Stevens, Lillie Ruth Pace, Lisa Pace, Fannie Anthony, Rosa Pace, Cheryl Ravens, Faniecia Johnson, Bonnie Williams, Leola Williams and Cheryl Williams; several nephews including: Ronald Pace, Dennis Pace Antwon Anthony, Eric Anthony, Jamal Anthony, Kelvin Pace, Ronnie Pace and Marcus Pace; two God-daughters: Penny Jackson and Meca Broner; one grandson, Curtis Hickson; four great grandchildren: Curtis Jr., Tamaya, Corryn and Chalyn; one great, great grandchild, Kamiyah; three devoted friends: Easter and Andrew Jessie and Willie Mae Murphy. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
