Funeral Services For Mr. Gregory Mathis

Bobby Brown, Officiating In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in the name of Gregory Mathis. OBITUARY Mr. Gregory Hugh Mathis To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Gregory Hugh Mathis, the son of the late Fred and Lula Mathis, was born December 18, 1952 in Montezuma, GA. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. At an early age he gave his life to Christ. Greg graduated from D. F. Douglass High, Montezuma, Georgia and served faithfully in the U. S. Army. He was employed as a dental hygienist. Early morning, March 13, 2009, Gregory departed this life leaving us with many good memories. Left to cherish those memories are his four sisters: Evelyn Washington of Montezuma, Georgia, Earlene Gilbert (Charles) of Centerville, Georgia, Ethel Denson of Macon, Georgia and Shirley Mathis of Dublin, Georgia; four brothers: Leroy Mathis of Rochester, New York; John W. Mathis of Atlanta, Georgia, Clarence Mathis (Glenda) of Temple, Texas and Harold G. Mathis of Los Angels, California; a stepson, Leonard McFarland, a special friend, Janene Skinner, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
