Ms. Joann Denise Nimmons
Don’t say goodbye, just say I am gone to a better place.
My work has been done on earth and I have paid my respects
I am resting comfortably in Gods home
On October 13, 1967 in Americus, Georgia, the union of the late Eugene Stewart and the late Barbara Jean Nimmons was blessed with the birth of their oldest daughter, Joann Denise Nimmons. She received her education in the Americus School System. Her love of life continued even as she endured her illness and longsuffering as a “Good Soldier.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Jean Nimmons and Eugene Stewart; her grandmother, Daisy Peterson a brother, Clayton Eugene Nimmons and a niece Shannon Nimmons. Ms. Nimmons died on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at her residence.
Her Life, Love and Legacy will continue in the hearts of her children, Latrishia Monroe (Quentin), Marquita Nimmons, and Derrick Monroe; her sister Peggy Nimmons; one brother, Chris Nimmons (Vanessa); her nieces, Cierra Nimmons, Jalissa Floyd, Krystalene Nimmons; her nephews Walter Carter, Devontae Nimmons and Derontae (Sharon) Nimmons; five grandchildren: Di’Marcus Miller, Ashanti Robinson, James Nimmons, Haley Q. Moore and Gabreal Nimmons; her god-daughter Laquanda Hill; a friend Jeanette Johnson; her devoted love, Allen “Nick” Daniels. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
