In Loving Memory Of Mrs. Sarah Turner West
Saturday, June 6, 2009 2:00 p.m. Little Poplar Spring Baptist Church Byromville, Georgia Reverend Marcellus Willis, Officiating OBITUARY Sarah Lou Turner West was the first of twelve children born October 29, 1929 to Rufus and Nettie Porter Turner in Byromville, Georgia. Sarah’s parents, her brothers Willie B., Alvin, Rufus Jr. and James and her daughter Louvenia West Adams preceded her in death. Sarah departed this life June 1, 2009 at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia. Sarah joined Little Poplar Spring Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until death. She was joined in Holy matrimony to Mr. Charlie Lee West on October 26, 1965. She and Charlie raised nine children. He proceded her in death March 13, 1992. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Louise Washington of Decatur, GA, Earnestine W. Lowe of Hartford, CN, Rosa Pearl West of Perry, GA, Charlie West, Jr. of Elko, GA, Nathaniel West (Julia) of Riverdale, GA, William Emory West of Elko, GA, Celestine West of Jonesboro, GA, and Denise West of Ellenwood, GA; her siblings: Emma Sutton of Perry, GA, Cephus (Ruby) Turner of Sarasota, FL, Nora V. Winslow (Julius) of Byromville, GA, Lois Rogers of Byromville, GA, Nettie Maude Legree (Rufus) of Rochester, NY, David Turner (Ann) of Dooling, GA, Annie Dean Sutton (Otha Lee) of Unadilla, GA and Allen Turner (Dee) of Macon, GA; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; three devoted nephews and excellent caretakers, Ricky McKenzie, Lonnie Rogers, and Julius Winslow, Jr. and a devoted friend, Dorothy Long of Perry, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives, lifelong friends and neighbors also survive.
