                             OBITUARY

Mrs. Annie Mae Smith Thornton was born May 5, 1938 to the late Luella Robinson and the late Robert Smith. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. James Thornton and to this union six children were born. Two sons, James and John Thornton preceded her in death. Mrs. Thornton was baptized in 1973 and became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Early Sunday morning, July 19, 2009 Mrs. Thornton departed this earthly life.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, James Thornton; children: Rickey Thornton (Jena) of Americus, Georgia, Lorenzo Thornton (Babbie) of Marshallville, Georgia, Cheryl Porter (James) and Pamela Thornton of Oglethorpe, Georgia; 19 grandchildren: Celicia Thornton, DeMario Porter, LaTravis Porter, Errol Felton, Rickey Thornton, Jr. Lashanda Porter, Renada Felton, Shantae Thornton, Renea Thornton, Johnaton Thornton, Cameisha Thornton, Tabrisha Thornton, Lorenzo Thornton, Jr, Kabresha Thornton, Cordeal Thornton, Loretta Thornton, Wachovia Thornton, Jalen Thornton and Devontay Thornton; 20 great grandchildren: Rashon Felton, YiKeirria Porter, Daniel Porter, JarQuez Turner, Delvin Felton, Chelsea Beal, Jalen Josey, Kaphrus Porter, Jordan Beal, Kamari Thornton, Zamarion Thornton, Danielle Porter, Quadarrius Sanders, Zakiya Thornton, Harlem Thornton, King Thornton, Jada Thornton, Jalen Jones, Zachary Felton and Tyson Jackson; sister and brother: Ola Mae Sparks of Montezuma, Georgia and Willie Tom Flowers of Miami, Florida; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
