Mother Anna Mary “Anna Mae” Hoston Lewis was born, April 12, 1909 (Easter Sunday) in Sale City, (Mitchell County) Georgia. She was the second child of eleven children born to the late Mr. Reed and Janie Hoston Sr. She was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Magnolia Manor Nursing and Retirement Center, Americus, Ga. She received her education in Sumter County Public Schools. At an early age she joined the Blooming Rose Baptist Church, Sumter County. On November 21, 1933 she married the late Albert Lewis, who preceded her in death in 1992 after 59 years of marriage. She and her late husband moved to Michigan, and while there she was a domestic and factory worker. On December 1, 1948 she was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost at Bethlehem Temple Church, Pontiac, Michigan under the leadership of the late D/E Roland Can. She served as Assistant Missionary Chairperson on the Baptismal, and Tarry Committee and occasionally officiated Baptismal Ceremonies.

In 1949 she moved to Detroit, Michigan, under the leadership of the late Bishop S. N. Hancock. She continued to serve faithfully in the Vineyard at Greater Bethlehem Temple Church as Sunday School Teacher, as well as the Youth and Adult Departments. After retiring in 1971, she returned to Americus where she continued to serve and walk faithfully with God at the Americus Pentecostal Church of the Apostolic Faith under the leadership of Elder Osby Mosley, Sr. She served as Sunday School Teacher, Dinning Room Baptismal, Tarry Committee, and whatever her hand found to do that she did heartily.

On April 12, 2009 Mother Lewis celebrated her 100 Birthday at the Americus Pentecostal Church with a service and dinner in her honor.

She leaves to cherish her memory a sister Mrs. Viola (late James) Lassiter, Rochester, PA; two brothers: Mr. Arthur Lee (Pauline) Hoston of Sewickley, PA, and Mr. William Clifford (Agnes) Hoston Sr. of Detroit MI, a devoted nephew Mr. William L (Mary) Hoston of Leslie, GA; Several nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and Church family also survive.
