Mrs. Rosa Merritt Jenkins

McKinstry, Pastor Obituary Mrs. Rose Lee Jenkins was born in Sumter County, Georgia on April 28, 1934 to the late Mr. J.W. McGarrah and the late Mrs. Minnie Johnson Merritt. She received her education in the Sumter County School System. At an early age she joined the Antioch Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Old Corinth Baptist Church. She worked as a cook and a sitter for many years. On October 22, 1966 she married Mr. John Samuel Jenkins, and to this union one daughter was born, Ms. Tina Jenkins. She Departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on January 9, 2010. Her husband Samuel Jenkins, five siblings: Lawrence Merritt, Mary Berry, Will Merritt, Lee Merritt, and Sarah Wade, and a step father Mr. Nathaniel Merritt all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her Memory: five children: Mrs. Annie Mae Merritt of Desoto, GA, Johnny (Ruby) Merritt, Eddie (Minnie) Merritt, Claudie (Jim) Brooks, and Tina (Charles) Jenkins all of Americus, GA; three Sisters: Willie (John) Gamble, Mrs. Johnnie (James) Hayes, Julia (Edward) Hayes, Cobb, GA; three brothers: Leroy (Edna) Merritt, Dennis (Shirley) Merritt, Clifford (A.B.) Merritt all of Americus; three sisters-in-law: Mrs. Charlene Merritt, Dolly Mae Merritt and Von Hayes, all of Americus, GA; two brothers-in-law: Mr. Ronnie Jenkins, Billy Jenkins, all of Americus, GA; one aunt, Mrs. Julia Bell Johnson of Smithville GA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren including three devoted great-grandchildren: Ms. Briana Kleckley, Deovion West, and Jirah Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends also survive.
