Funeral Services for Mr. John Lee Terry, Sr.

Mariah Baptist Church Americus, Georgia Interment Staley Memorial Gardens Obituary Mr. John Lee Terry, Sr. On Thursday, January 14, 2010, Mr. Johnny Lee Terry, Sr. slipped away quietly to be absent from the body so that he could be present with the Lord! “Bo” as he was affectionately known was born on October 20, 1939 to the late Mr. Charlie “Hump” Terry, Sr., and the late Mrs. Annie Ellis Terry in Sumter County, Georgia. He was one of nine children, four preceded him in death, Mr. Charlie Terry, Jr., Mr. Walter Terry, Sr., Mrs. Carolyn Terry Dice, and Mr. Randolph Terry. “Bo” was educated in the Sumter County School System. At an early age he joined the Oak Grove Huntington Church. As a young man, he met and married Ozie Gooden Terry, and to this union, two children were born, John Terry, Jr. of Corning, NY and Veronica (Quan) Westbrooks of Americus, GA. He later met and married his present wife Elenora Walker Terry and to this union two sons were born, Al Terry and Rondale Terry “Bo’s” legacy will continue to live on through the love ones he left behind, his wife of 29 years Mrs. Elenora Walker Terry of Miami, FL, four children: John Terry, Jr., Veronica Terry-Westbrooks, Al (Tangela) Terry, and Rondale Terry; three sisters: Mrs. Annie Ruth Williams of Tampa, FL, Mrs. Linda (David) Vickers of Miramar, FL and Mrs. Shirley Lundy of Americus, GA; One Brother, Simmuel Terry of Americus, GA; Sisters-in-Laws, Evelyn Terry-Tullis of Americus, GA, Barbara Hawkins Terry of Atlanta, GA, Annie Lois Mathis of Miami, FL, Alice May Ford, and Margaret Walker of Live Oak, FL, Minnie Bertha Cooper of Tacoma, WA; three brothers-in-Laws: Mr. Johnny Dice of Miami, FL, Mr. Gene Gooden of Americus, GA and Mr. Branden Willie Gooden of Lorton, VA. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
