Gloria Crittenden was born on April 27, 1946, in Oglethorpe, Georgia. The eldest daughter of Cora Manning and the late Jake Joseph, she was lovingly reared by John and Cora Manning. She grew up in Roselle, NJ where she graduated from high school. Gloria married Harvey Crittenden, Jr. and resided in Roselle, NJ with their five children.

After the death of her husband in 2002, she moved to Montezuma, Georgia where she became a member and usher at Magnolia Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and wife.
