OBITUARY

Mrs. Daisy Bell Searcy Richardson was born on October 9, 1929 to the late Tommy and Leola Banks Searcy. At an early age she joined the County Line Baptist Church of Howard, GA.  She met and married the late Willie C. Richardson and to this union ten children were born. Later in life she moved her membership to the Westside Church of God in Christ in Butler, GA where she continued to serve as a faithful servant in God’s army.  She served in all capacities in the Church of God in Christ for 52 years.  She believed in Jesus Christ and was a dedicated follower of his teachings and work.  There was never a job too big or dirty for “Mama Daisy” as she was referred to in the community.  She always was willing to lend a hand, and help anyone in need.  A community servant is what she should have been called, because there was never a day you didn’t see her walking the streets of Butler with her bible going to help someone.  As a servant in God’s army she worked the battle field all over, but as any good soldier, when the battle is over the soldier is tired; as this child of God came to the end of her road called life, she passed quietly on April 6, 2010 in Ellenwood, GA surrounded by her beloved family.  Mama Daisy’s life was truly not in vain. She touched so many lives that were impacted by her love, tenderness, and kindness.

Left to cherish her memories are ten children: Charlene Mott, Joanne R. Smith, Betty Jean Williams all of Atlanta, GA,  Lonnie Clyde Richardson, Bobby Richardson, Lorena Richardson, Shajwa Richardson, all of Butler, GA, Dianne Richardson, David Richardson both of Columbus, GA and Daphany (John) Williams of Colorado Springs, CO;  one sister Addie Health of Butler, GA; one brother-in-law, Wiley McCrary of Butler, GA;  three sisters-in-laws: Ewardy McCrary of Atlanta, GA, Corine Lyon, New York, NY, and  Essie Mae Richardson of Michigan;  two devoted cousins who she shared her spiritual life with, Mother Mamie Lou Howard, and Clara Mae Couch of Howard, GA  and  a special friend Juanita Howard of Butler, GA; Her legacy of family continues in her grandchildren and offspring of 25 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
