 The Lozano family has lived in Flagstaff since 1928 when Richard’s grandparents Gumercindo and Hermina Santana Lozano immigrated from Mexico. His Maternal grandparents Jose and Silvina Diaz moved from Williams to Flagstaff in 1941. Richard’s parents are Rosary Diaz Lozano and the late Senor Oriol Santana Lozano, both born in Williams and Flagstaff. Shannon’s parents are Richard “Dick” & Judith Carroll who have lived in Flagstaff for over 40 years. Both Richard and Shannon grew up in Flagstaff since early childhood. They attended public schools and both graduated from Coconino High School in 1981. They have two daughters; Katherine and Mackenzi. Shannon has been a professional bookkeeper for over 25 years and she overseas the day to day financial operations for the mortuary. Richard serviced in the United States Navy for five years. After being discharged he started a mortuary apprenticeship at the old Flagstaff Mortuary and he moved to Monrovia, California to attend Cypress College of Mortuary Science in Cypress. In California he worked for the Douglas and Zook Mortuary, a family owned and operated business. The Zook Family, Bob, Elsie, Greg and Rick have always inspired Richard and are considered part of his family. He moved back to Flagstaff in 1996 to work as a funeral home manager, and most recently worked for Norvel Owens Mortuary. On April 1, 2006 Richard and Shannon purchased the Flagstaff Mortuary and did a slight name change still honoring your family values and traditions. Richard and Shannon stay active within the community. Richard just recently completed a year serving as the President of the Flagstaff Rotary Club. Richard has stated, “We are fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to own and operate a mortuary and to help serve the community that we call our home.” He concludes with saying “there are many good people along the way that have helped with knowledge and kindness and we want to say “Thank you””
