Tom was born in Flagstaff in 1921. He was an alter-boy under Father Albouy and remained a devout Catholic throughout his life. He excelled in track as a young man and when WWII broke out enlisted in the navy where he served on the USS Hobby for three years. After the war he began his 38-year career as a Quality Assurance Specialist with the Dept. of Defense out at Navajo Ordnance Depot.
He married the love of his life, Leona (Jerry) Ryan in Flagstaff in 1950. Together they were transferred throughout the world, including Germany, Italy, Okinawa and many stateside assignments until Tom’s retirement in 1974 when they returned home to Flagstaff.
For 13 years Tom enjoyed being part of the volunteer team at the FMC where he and his wife (Tom & Jerry) distributed magazines to grateful patients. A very kind and gentle man, he will be long remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and dedication to his family.
