Roy Lovato, age 74, of Flagstaff, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 3, 2009 surrounded by his loved ones.  Roy was born in Flagstaff to the late Melecio and Eufemia Lobato on June 21, 1934.  He served in the military with a tour of duty in the Korean War.  He had a passion for running and entered and completed many marathons throughout his life.  He enjoyed watching boxing, never missed an Arizona Diamondbacks game and he enjoyed hunting as a young man.  Roy lived in St. Johns, Arizona for the last decade and loved to plant and watch his fruit trees flourish.  Roy is survived by his wife, Norma Lovato, daughters, Sylvia Huereña (Lupe), Bobby Figueroa (Ambrose), Cynthia Lovato, Jackie Lovato, Claudia Lovato, sons, Gino Lovato (Michelle),  Roy Lovato Jr.,  his siblings, Solomon Lobato (Becky), Guggie Moore (Jim), Vennie Gracia (Dave), Isabel Drosis (Chris), Vickie Arias, twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

 

 Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m on Thursday, Feb. 5th, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, 224 S Kendrick St., Flagstaff.  Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel.  There will be a private graveside service held for the family.  Flowers and donations may be sent to Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N Fourth Street.
