Sharon LaHaie Meilbeck Wiessmann
Sharon Wiessmann, or Shari as she was known to her many friends, passed away on Saturday September 19, at the Olivia White Hospice Home, with her family at her side. Shari was born to Lawrence X. LaHaie and Margaret C. Grawey on May 20th, 1939 in Cheboygan, Michigan.
Shari was married to Norman B. Wiessmann on January 14th, 1978. After selling their Flower business in Illinois, Shari and Norm moved to Flagstaff in August 2004. For over 40 years Shari’s passion was being a floral designer. She was a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers and co-owner of Norms’ Flower Cottage and Norm’s Chalor Flowers in Illinois.
Although Shari was most currently a resident of Flagstaff, she has also lived in Brookfield, Burr Ridge, Hinsdale, and Orland Park, Illinois, where she still has many friends and acquaintances. Shari had so love for each and every member of her family, and although very sad and tragic, her illness and death has brought us closer together as a family. She loved her husband Norm and they were soul-mates. Shari is survived by her husband Norm, as well as first husband David A. Meilbeck, daughters Meg Machacek and Karen Golden, sons Larry, Phillip, and Jeff Meilbeck, as well as ten grandchildren – Marcus, Michelle, Cassidy, Caitlin, Courtney, Robert, Daniel, Michael, Lauren, and Mandolin.
A Memorial Service and Reception will be held in her honor on Friday September 25th, at 10:00 am at Flagstaff Federated Community Church, 400 west Aspen Ave., Flagstaff, AZ
