William “Joe” Fields, 94, of Flagstaff died Monday, March 8, 2010.
He was born November 2, 1915 in Phoenix, AZ to Joseph and Sarah (McCullough) Fields who had emigrated to American from Ireland.
Joe served in the US Army during WWII in the south Pacific, the Philippines and Japan. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club. Joe enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and was very proud of learning to fly, and owning an airplane.
He is survived by his sons, Fredrick (Irmgard) Fields, Richard Fields, Sisters: Viola Pappick, Anna Chambers, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Elks Lodge BPOE #499, 2101 N. San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, AZ. Burial will be 1:00 pm Monday March 15, 2010 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ
