Don Rosalez, age 83 of Flagstaff was called home to the Lord on September 22, 2009.  He was born on July 30, 1926 to Concepcion and Simona Rosalez.  He resided in Clarkdale, Az. until he enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 where he served on the USS Houston.  After serving his country he married his sweetheart, Esther Fajardo of Flagstaff where eventually they made their home and raised their children.

Don gained state wide notoriety as an outstanding fast pitch pitcher where some of his accomplishments included several no hitters and his most memorable was him pitching a championship two hitter despite a broken finger on his pitching hand.  He was also known for his back breaking change up and his knuckle ball.  After softball, Don took up bowling where with his natural athletic abilities he was able to achieve a perfect 300 game and where he also became a member of the 700 Club.  Don’s love for sports did not end there; he enjoyed the game of golf where at the age of 80 he shot his first hole in one.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing billiards.

Don spent his early working years with the Flagstaff Lumber Co. and the Santa Fe Railroad.  He spent most of his career working in the vending industry.  Companies included CocaCola Bottling Co., Flagstaff Vending, Hi Line Vending/PepsiCola.  Don’s charismatic personality made him a favorite with all his clients and co-workers where he established many lifelong friendships.

Don was a devoted father, grandfather, and a favorite uncle to many.  He enjoyed family gatherings and loved to sing and play the guitar.  He was a fun loving spirit, the hit of the party, and invented many dance moves.  Don brought love, joy and inspiration to his family.  He will be missed by all and leaves a big emptiness in all our lives.  May Jesus and the angels welcome him with open arms.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Esther; his brothers Guadalupe, Antolin and Juan; his sisters Mary Huerta and Lorenza Mancilla and grandson David.  He is survived by his brother Joe of Ajo; son Don Jr (Alice) of Flagstaff; daughter Loretta Gonzalez (Robert) of Phoenix; grandchildren Donald III, Sheila, Julie, Diego, Jorge, Amanda and Steven; seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many nephews and nieces.
